Renovations and changes to a building need a filing approach that matches the actual scope. We help coordinate the application process with owners, architects, engineers, and contractors.
We support coordination for legacy Alt-1 and Alt-2 filings and current Alteration and Alteration-CO applications. DOB terminology differs between BIS and DOB NOW; the project professional determines the appropriate filing type.
Interior & building alterations
Organize filing requirements for renovation and alteration work, track comments, and coordinate information needed from the design and construction team.
Foundations
Coordinate application documents and agency follow-up for foundation-related work within the agreed scope, with technical design and certifications supplied by the responsible professionals.
Existing filings & amendments
Start with the current application status, outstanding objections, and proposed changes so the next steps reflect the record already on file.
THE NEXT STEPS
A clear approach from the first conversation.
01
Review the existing filing record and proposed alteration scope.
02
Coordinate supporting documents and responsibilities with the applicant.
03
Track submissions, review comments, and the next required actions.
SCOPE & PRICING
Know what’s included.
We price the work around the property, jurisdiction, current status, and deliverables. Your proposal should distinguish our coordination fees from agency fees, penalties, professional services, and contractor costs.
Older filing names are still commonly used. In DOB NOW, legacy BIS Alt-2/Alt-3 work corresponds to Alteration, while Alt-1 corresponds to Alteration-CO. The correct application depends on project facts.
